1. Platform purpose

CampainInTheAss is a publicly accessible, attribution-only political information platform. Every claim published on this platform is attributed to a named source. We do not publish editorial opinion about candidates' character, honesty, or fitness for office.

2. Acceptable use

You may use this platform and its API for:

  • Personal research and civic education
  • Journalism and non-partisan political reporting
  • Academic research
  • Building non-commercial civic tools on top of our API

You may NOT use this platform or API to:

  • Harass, threaten, or facilitate threats against any individual
  • Compile personal information (“doxxing”) about private individuals
  • Conduct targeted political advertising or voter suppression
  • Automate bulk collection beyond our published rate limits without prior written permission
  • Re-publish platform data in ways that remove source attribution

3. Community submissions

You may submit claims about public figures. All submissions must include a source URL from a Tier 1 (government) or Tier 2 (major news) source to support factual claims. By submitting, you represent that you believe the submission is accurate and properly attributed. Submissions are published immediately (Wikipedia-style) and are subject to community dispute and retraction.

We reserve the right to retract or flag submissions that violate these terms. Retracted submissions are marked, not deleted.

4. No liability for third-party content

This platform aggregates and displays information from third-party sources. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any third-party data. We are not liable for decisions made based on information from this platform.

5. Right of reply

Any individual profiled on this platform may submit a factual correction or response. Corrections and responses are published on the relevant profile. See the Contributing Guidelines for instructions.

6. Termination

We may suspend API access for users who violate these terms. Individual community submissions may be retracted for cause.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
